and ask any guitar friends to teach you basic chords. I learnt guitar by having my dad teach me some basic chords, then I learnt the entire The Kooks first record through tabs, and then Laura Marling’s Alas I Cannot Swim. And from that I basically learnt all the chords you need, and to finger pick and strum in different patterns. If something was a little more complicated id look up YouTube videos of people playing stuff to see what their hands were doing. I learnt how to play covers on piano purely from YouTube tutorials. And I’m literally a musician! its maybe not like the way to learn “properly” but it is the way that worked for me! The joy! of discovery! Often you can get something sounding good pretty easily, and then you can make it sound bad, and then you can figure out how to make that sound good, and then you're cooking with gas.
