There’s also the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, aka the frequency illusion, where if something is at the top of your mind due to a recent event, you may be more attuned to noticing it when it appears—the classic example is buying a new car and then suddenly seeing your car model everywhere because now it stands out to you because of its significance in your life.
