Living at altitude, and especially as it gets colder, it takes some effort to avoid turning into a dried husk. So, every night I’m applying artificial tears, irrigating my nose with saline spray, slugging on top of a thin layer of emu oil, and finishing off with a thick lip balm. By morning, everything has absorbed and my skin is looking/feeling bouncy vs desiccated.

treat your lips the same way you would treat the rest of the skin on your face! put a small amount of moisturizer on em after washing. i like to use something super gentle like an eye cream but whatever you have on hand will work. THEN, before you go out, apply the lip balm of your choice. the balm is meant to be a protective layer between your skin and the dry air. if you put lip balm on top of already dry lips it's pretty much useless bc the skin can't absorb it, which sometimes makes the problem worse. ok stay soft

Using your lungs for good and bad. Cancelling out the smoke with cardio. The bliss of a cigarette while walking through a big city in the fairly cold weather is an experience I can only describe as joyous and freeing.

You can’t all be writers. Some of you must become blue collar workers. My blue collar bf made me a coffee table and now I get to think fondly of him when I look at it in my living room (I was likely thinking fondly of him before that anyways). He has no idea I brag about him and that table at least 3 times a week.
