I listened to this book because I saw it recommended on youtube, a small book that packs a punch. A girl is fostered by an extremely caring and wholesome family, the Kinsellas, while back home her struggling mother is giving birth to yet another child, piling on top of her existing struggles. It doesn’t take much time for the girl to adjust to the idyllic Irish farmgirl lifestyle, helping to fetch the water, racing to beat her own time fetching the mail, and accompanying the Kinsellas to church and get togethers. Hidden somewhere behind all the idealism is a secret, carefully revealed – making the characters both extra lovable and heartbreaking.The book isn’t much of a commitment at sub 100 pages, and it sticks around in your mind forever.

Had me in tears on my red eye flight this morning!
A small girl is sent to live with foster parents on a farm in rural Ireland, without knowing when she will return home. In the strangers' house, she finds a warmth and affection she has not known before and slowly begins to blossom in their care.
It is a quiet novella (and only 88 pages) but there is so much life and tenderness in the small details. Immediate re-read.

👧It’s less than 100 pages and the audiobook was incredibly cute. The book is short so you’ll get some instant gratification when you finish it and the story is written so well you’ll want to read another book to keep living in other lives.

📚i found this book at my school library this morning and decided to start to read it. it’s set in ireland, which is somewhere i’ve always wanted to visit. under 100 pages, short and sweet, and i’m really liking it!

🔁In college I went to the same Mexican place every day for a burrito, got the same coffee at the same Dunkin’ Donuts every morning
Years later im in a new area following the same philosophy, I eat a chicken bruschetta wrap at the same place every time I go out for lunch and still get the same coffee at the same local Dunkin’ Donuts every morning.
I frequent the same full service gas station, go to the same mechanic, Kevin, buy groceries from the same local mart, get my hair cut by the same barber, buy any and all hardware misc from the same little hardware store, Jeds.
When your order gets prepared the second you walk in, and you have a relationship with your daily’s, your life is in a better place.

And I mean completely out of cell service with the only option for connection being a 20+ minute drive to town. Just got back from this and feeling REFRESHED.
