I don’t read as much as I should, but I bought the Zodiac book by Robert Graysmith a while back and recently during this latest lockdown I have been making my way through that. True crime is lame as hell, and does nothing for me but this is interesting. And dark AF!David Fincher made a film a few years back aswell tarring the god Jake Gyllenhall, aswell as a host of other big names, which I would also thoroughly recommend. Its kinda longer than anything I would normally choose to watch these days, but my attention span lasted which means its worth it.

Honestly got this book because I kept seeing those “10 most evil villains” YouTube videos. I always find that with books, the first half is a SLOW BURN for me. It will take me months to read the first half and days to finish the second - American psycho, 1984, brave new world etc.
This book is slow atm đŸ˜« but giving it a chance

READ THIS BOOK!!! a disgraced journalist investigates a reclusive film director after the director's daughter is found dead in an abandoned warehouse in nyc under mysterious circumstances. whatever you think it's gonna be like based on that description, think again. this book blossoms and metamorphosizes into so many different things and somehow manages to ace every single one. i loved it so much that i was making myself only read ONE PAGE A DAY to make it last longer. 600 pages but feels so much shorter. and the best part? it's incredibly immersive, in part because the author utilizes a ton of multimodal aspects to make it more realistic. things like psych ward files, police reports, websites-- pic attached is an example. it's the only book i've ever read that includes such multimodal aspects in a way that feels INCREDIBLY true to life-- i regularly forgot i was reading fiction and started to look up the director's films to add to my watchlist. SO GOOD, read it now!!!

Look, for the most part all new music is pretty garbage. Let's get that out the way. 2020 didn’t really blow me away with new releases. It's either completely forgettable, too long or too short, boring, or just not good. Sometimes a combination, sadly. To kick off a new year I went back to an old classic. I suppose we always go back to what we know and love, in life. ‘Dancing on My Own’ by Robyn is one of the best songs written in the last 15 years - probably more if we are being honest! You can listen Robyns songs when you are happy OR sad. Definition of a classic.

It recently started to snow pretty bad in Scotland, where I reside, so it seemed only fitting I upgrade my wardrobe. Not that I ever need much of an excuse. About 4 years ago Mister Mort posted someone in Paris wearing North Face down pants WITH a North Face Nuptse and I have been obsessed with finding something similar for when the temperature really drops.  Nike currently has these bad boys on sale and are going to be a winter staple for me for years to come.

Okay now for some TRUE CULTURE. My favourite artist right now (and probably the last few years) is my man Tyrell Winston. Based In NY his work is heavily influenced by sports, culture, found objects and the New York City streets as a backdrop. I really enjoy the range of his output. Usually my tastes aren’t really geared towards BIG pieces, as I can never get my head round the scale of what I am looking at, but his work is really good - the paintings especially.  I want to work with him this year on some projects for my brand.
