I’m trying to plug my phone in by my couch at night now, and I just tried to fall asleep without it, but for the second night in a row I’ve gotten out of bed and moved to sleep on the couch so I can hold my phone. I’ve slept with it almost like a teddy bear ever since I got a smart phone in 2013, and a 12-year habit is going to be hard to beat :/ I’ve never successfully reformed my relationship to my phone and would like some tips on how to break longstanding habits and routines, because I can’t keep posting like this at 1am. Having a cognitive neuroscience background, I know some of what the research says I should do, but actually getting myself to do it faithfully is the harder part :(
