I don't have a ton of music making experience outside of writing songs for myself and doing nothing with them. but I'd love to do more. This is all I have that's public:
space worm - a collaboration with 2 other students/friends. I did the lyrics, melody, and vocals. fun fact we only had 1 day to record the vocals so I was singing for 5 hours straight with no breaks and I wanted to cry. good times

tentative rec. i recently switched to a middle part after over a decade of wearing a side part. my hair hasn't fully gotten used to it and i'm not sure how i feel about it yet... but maybe it's cool. at the very least i will start balding in a different location

Tipsy cleaning also slaps. Grab your drink of choice (ideally something large with a low alcohol percentage), throw your favourite upbeat music on, and get cute. Belt the lyrics while you wash the dishes. Dance around the apartment. It’s the only way to make cleaning even remotely fun.
makes the whole process more bearable, dare i say enjoyable.

If you only know Doja Cat from her hit singles, viral TikTok sounds, and trollish online antics, you might be surprised to learn that she had a deep career on Soundcloud long before she would first boldly declare "bitch, I'm a cow".
As a teenager, Doja would scour YouTube for songs to turn into beats and vocalize over. One such song was Com Truise's Brokendate, which forms the foundation of 4 morant (better luck next time), uploaded to Soundcloud in 2012 when Doja was only 16 or 17 years old. She eventually took down the song, and generally refuses to acknowledge it (likely due to the very personal lyrics), but it recently had an official release under Com Truise (to whom she did not give credit in her initial upload).
As for why I recommend it: this song is just perfect for those late nights when you're in that dissonant state of hurting deeply while being too apathetic to acknowledge or do anything about it. You feel stuck and a bit impulsive and very alone. Damn, no one gets it. Then in a sudden moment of clarity, emotion comes spilling over you. I cry from my eyes to my feet, stairs to the street to the gutters to the seas. You sit in that feeling for a while, but then it washes away, and you're left in your habitual resignation. I work from home so it's really tempting for me to just leave my work computer in "work" mode overnight - docker containers running, IDE hanging, slack notifs popping off, a bajillion tabs open. Close that shit down at 5pm. Aside from acting as a ritual to transition from work-life to life-life, it also gives you something concrete to start the next morning with while the coffee kicks in.
