I was never able to stick to my habits until I learned this one weird trick: forgive myself ahead of time for the times I’ll break them either by mistake or on purpose, and permission to just pick back up after with no judgement.
as a little treat I allow myself a bit of deviation … as a bigger treat I allow myself the compassion and knowing that failure is human nature and I can just start again tomorrow gonna go pretend like I didn’t recc this at 7am now! ciao :)

Even when the giants are not well known- whatever you’re doing, you most likely aren’t the first. Look to those who came before and learn from them- both from their successes and mistakes. Not only will what you make be better for it, but I myself can think of no greater honor than to be an inspiration for those who come after. … and yes, I’m talking about discovering a really elegant TTRPG system created several years ago and put out for free to the world that I’m adapting for my own game. Because I’m a giant nerd.

Co-signing on this one hard. Got lots of small lamps at my place and it makes super happy turning on just the right amount of them for whatever purpose or feel I have in mind. I’ve thought about trying to get them automated but honestly I prefer them manual. The act of having to move about the place flicking switches and clicking buttons and pulling cords to conduct the lighting *just so* is a daily delight.
get home turn them all on

We're long overdue in thrusting "What do you do?" into the sea forever. It's time we collectively get down to what people are interested in instead of minimizing their vibrant existence by asking how they make money.
