Slushy Noobz is a Toronto-based YouTube channel and content creator duo made up of Hamzah and Martin. Since launching their channel in 2023, they’ve built an impressive audience, gaining over a million followers on their respective TikTok accounts and closing in on one million YouTube subscribers. Their content is refreshingly nostalgic– their gaming videos and vlogs evoke the golden age of YouTube, where it’s clear they’re truly having fun riffing with each other. Every time a clip of them appears in my feed, it’s always a masterclass in bit commitment, and I find myself smiling so wide. From last month’s Hamzah vs. Martin boxing event to the launch of their new Patreon, this year is shaping up to be an exciting one for the pair. Lucky for us, the Slushy Noobz are here to tell us what they’ve been into.

I freaking love reading comics, both physically and digitally (shoutout to the Marvel Unlimited app), and collecting my favorites. Some of the best series I’ve read are Ultimate Spider-Man by Brian Michael Bendis and Secret Six by Gail Simone. -Martin

Not loving Concerts

Do not be afraid if you did not feel moved after going to a concert, even if it was someone whom you really enjoyed. Music is so hard to make how can they do it well live. Not only is it usually loud but it’s loud for like the whole time. Also everyone is fucked up lowkey. Some genres translate especially badly to live so yeah. Not to mention festivals… -Hamzah

I hurt my thumb a couple weeks ago and ever since then I've been relying on text to speech for my texting on my phone and MacBook. It's proving to be extremely useful, especially as someone who struggles with reading and writing.
